Matt Decell has been making high-end contemporary furniture since 1996, when he began collaborating on a line of furniture with his cousin and business partner.  For the past year, Mr. Decell has been designing and creating his own line of custom furniture.  His furniture is displayed in showrooms in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, San Francisco, Washington DC, New York, and Dania, FL.  However, don’t expect to wander into one of these showrooms on your next trip to any of these cities.  The showrooms that display Mr. Decell’s work are not open to the public; they are only accessible to interior designers and architects.  While he ships all over the country, Mr. Decell makes all of his furniture in his Charleston studio, assisted by employees trained at the Savannah School of Art and Design.  The LDC was able to assist Mr. Decell with an RLF loan in 2001
